Something To Smile About: Steve Mason of Jars of Clay is an Arsenal Fan!

11 May

I don’t get to do this “Something to Smile About” post ever since I started with my new work. I said before that I’m going to write something that made me smile every week… it’s my way of “Counting the Blessings” or “Exercising My Gratitude Muscles”.

I’ve read this quote somewhere: “Life is hard, then you die.” Quite true, so might as well deal with that and see the bright side of things and focus on things that at least made us smile. 🙂

Well, a lot of weeks has passed and I know should make up for those weeks I didn’t write about them. But for now, I’m writing about know that:

My favorite Steve Mason... an Arsenal fan! 🙂

Jars of Clay’s Steve Mason is an Arsenal fan! Yes he is! I’ve recently read an article written by Brian Nixon about meeting Jars of Clay last Easter. He particularly mentioned about meeting my favorite Jars of Cay member, the guitarist Steve Mason. Steve was busy watching a football match between Bolton and Arsenal and was rooting for Arsenal of course (Yey! Go Carlos Vela! 🙂 ). Steve was explaining how he got married to football through his English wife. Sweet!

This is the article:  Easter, The English Premier League and Jars of Clay

I’m just happy to know it. I love Jars of Clay and I’m a football fan too ! This just made me smile. 🙂

More of these, next time. 🙂

Let me breathe…

9 May

I don’t want to cry. No.

Not today.

Not here.

And hopefully, never again.

My heart is growing cold. No, I’m just pretending. Trying.

Truth is, it’s screaming in silence…saying enough, enough now, please.

It’s bleeding.

I’m drowning myself… repeatedly listening to SCRIPT’s “Breakeven”…

It’s says what I feel about you…it just captured the current state of my being.

I’m grieving. And you’ve moved on. Forgot about the promises made…

No, I don’t want to cry.

I just want to breathe.

Because When a Heart Breaks It Don’t Break Even

8 May

They say bad things happen for a reason
But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding
‘Coz he’s moved on while I’m still grieving
And when a heart breaks no it don’t break even…

What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you
What am I supposed to say when I’m all choked up and you’re okay
I’m falling to pieces

Because  when a heart breaks it don’t break even…

~The Script~

This just sums up what I feel at the moment… *sighs*

Jars of Clay & Hanson-“WELL:DONE”

3 May

I was surprised to see this poster on the Facebook wall of Jars of Clay:  Hanson will be joining them in one night of songs and stories! Woohoo!

I am just so excited to know it. Even though I won’t be able to watch it, I am just so happy to know that my two most favorite bands of all time -Jars of Clay and Hanson will be performing in one event!

Dubbed as “WELL-DONE Celebration” is a benefit event of stories and songs in Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on  May 10th, as Jars of Clay through BLOOD:WATER Mission celebrates the completion of the 1,000 Wells Project which was launched in 2005 for the communities in Africa, so they can have  access to clean and safe water.

I never thought it would happen – for my favorite bands to play in one night. Well both of them have been busy with their charities – helping people in Africa, but I never thought a collaboration like this would ever happen.  I love it! I love Jars’ music so much, I grew up listening to them…. and so Hanson, who reminds me so much of my younger years. 🙂

I wish I could watch them! 🙂 I’m thrilled.

And I have to say,

Jars of Clay and Hanson….

WELL:DONE!

Let’s Celebrate!
